Your tank stays yours.
Lary keeps aquarium state, moods, journal text, tasks, preferences, and assistant history on your Mac. It has no Lary account, advertising profile, analytics SDK, or cloud database.
Optional connections
- Calendar: reads the next seven days after you connect it. Creating an event requires another confirmation.
- Mail: scans Apple Mail locally after you start it. Full bodies are used transiently for importance scoring and a short summary, then discarded.
- Messages and Contacts: use your My Card only for update destinations you explicitly enable.
- Weather: sends coordinates to Open-Meteo only when weather is requested and stores conditions rather than coordinates.
- Music and notifications: remain off until you choose their controls.
Local files
Working state lives in WebKit storage. Recovery, bounded operational logs, and sanitized diagnostics live under ~/Library/Application Support/Lary. FileVault protects these with your Mac login when FileVault is enabled.
Your controls
You can stop every connector without deleting the aquarium, apply retention limits, export or delete journal entries, revoke permissions in macOS System Settings, or use Erase all Lary data. The erase action requires two confirmations and removes Lary’s local state, caches, recovery, diagnostics, logs, and preferences.
Diagnostics
Exported diagnostics exclude aquarium state, journal text, mood notes, email subjects and summaries, calendar titles, message recipients, and location coordinates.
Website and downloads
The public website does not require a Lary account. The static release page requests only the official release manifest needed to show the current notarized download. Lary does not embed advertising or behavioral analytics in the website or app.
Contact and changes
Use the support page for help and the security policy for vulnerability reports. Material privacy changes will be dated and published here before they apply to a later public release.
